HdrOzone®
The R&D and Manufacturing History of HDROZONE® Sterilization Technology
Founded in 1993, TEKNOMAR LTD. has been engineering and manufacturing world-class industrial and hospital-grade Ethylene Oxide (EO) and low-temperature sterilization systems in Türkiye since 1996.
In 1996, in close collaboration with leading cardiovascular surgeons, TEKNOMAR initiated the serial production of Cardiovascular Surgery (CVS) Type EO sterilizers, specifically designed to ensure the safe sterilization of delicate catheters.
TEKNOMAR subsequently established itself as a global brand by manufacturing the world's largest Industrial Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Device in its class, featuring a massive 62.5 m³ chamber capacity.
Leveraging its extensive EO R&D expertise, TEKNOMAR achieved a major technological milestone by developing the world's first single-chamber SUTURE EO Sterilization System operating at 0% relative humidity (0 ppm water content), successfully introducing it to global markets.
Driven by market evolution and a commitment to continuous innovation, TEKNOMAR launched Türkiye's first R&D program for Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilization Systems in 2004. The HRF Cold Plasma technology was developed, and the first commercial product, the HRF3000 Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilization System, was launched under the TEKNOMAR brand in 2006 following the acquisition of its patent.
To execute strategic market expansion, a new venture—GOA TEKNOLOJİ LTD. ŞTİ.—was established in 2007 under the auspices of TEKNOMAR. Spearheaded by Hasan Tahsin ÖZBEK as the visionary founder and primary capital partner, the company focused on manufacturing hydrogen peroxide sterilizers under the STERICOOL brand.
The initial models were showcased globally in 2008 at both the TÜYAP Istanbul exhibition and the Dubai Arab Health Fair under the STERICOOL HRF 3000 TEKNOMAR brand.
The GOA STERICOOL Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilization System, whose core technology was originally developed by TEKNOMAR, was subsequently sold indirectly to GETINGE in later years.
Driven by continuous innovation, TEKNOMAR's experienced R&D team pushed boundaries further without interruption to engineer an advanced OZONE & H₂O₂ PLASMA SYSTEM. However, the OZONE & H₂O₂ PLASMA SYSTEM was intentionally shelved rather than commercialized due to severe material oxidation risks and insufficient sterilization performance observed during trials.
Building on these crucial insights and following a multi-year R&D initiative, TEKNOMAR launched R&D activities in 2018 for the HEAVY MOLECULE (H3O) hydronium sterilization method and the HDROZONE sterilization platform. Product development and engineering activities were carried out. Following the completion of the R&D, testing, clinical evaluations, and validation phases by 2024, the breakthrough technology was officially commercialized.
HDROZONE stands today as the world's first patented 4th-generation sterilization platform, utilizing heavy molecules with high radical-generation capacity to deliver unprecedented sterilization efficacy, particularly for complex endoscopes.
Subsequently, TEKNOMAR Group transferred to Bscience A.Ş., as an integrated business package and with all associated rights, all information and documentation relating to the HDROZONE platform and the HDROZONE brand developed within its organization. This transfer included patents, registrations, brand rights, certifications, accumulated R&D know-how, manufacturing facilities, inventory, qualified technical staff, and manufacturing technologies.
Bscience A.Ş. has assumed full operational leadership for mass production, global marketing, international certifications, strategic partnerships, know-how licensing and transfer, joint ventures, and other related business models.
"We are exporting advanced technology from Türkiye to global markets. Our vision extends far beyond selling equipment; we are committed to building a scientifically grounded, sustainable sterilization ecosystem worldwide. For this reason, we continue our R&D activities without interruption."
Continuing R&D and Innovation, Always...
